DIY Embroidered Jeans

Embroidered jeans are super cute and on trend right now. I did some digging and found some embroidered jeans from different stores that are pretty expensive. These jeans are from 7 For All Mankind and retail for $279. That's insane!

This pair of jeans is from Nordstrom and retails for $300!

Do you see my point? These jeans are pricey and to be honest, the embroidery probably isn't even that good. Companies like these unfortunately are focused on making product fast so they can sell more. Their standards are not high, so why not just embroider a pair of jeans yourself? You can customize the colors and design of your jeans to make a pair special for you.

Embellish® Matte Thread
Let's get started. For these jeans, we used flowers from Hope Yoder's Roses & Arrows Embroidery + SVG Collection CD. To start, hoop Embellish® Fusible Dissolvable Tearaway. This product is 50% soft tearaway fibers and 50% water soluble fibers which makes it easy to remove from the denim once you are done embroidering. The Embellish® Fusible Dissolvable Tearaway holds up to 10,000 stitches in a 4" x 4" hoop. For this pair of jeans, we embroidered with Embellish® Matte Thread which gave the jeans a vintage feel.

When you are stitching your designs, make sure you don't forget to use topper! We used Embellish® Rinse-Away Clear Topper. This topper creates an elevated and level surface for uniform stitches, not to mention your jeans will look professional. A lot of embroidered denim you see in stores DOES NOT use topper, and you can tell because the stitches are all sunken in and look awful.
